(Overview)
Article 1
This regulation shall prescribe the necessary matters concerning the organization and operation of
the UEC ASEAN Research and Education Center of the University of Electro-Communications
(hereinafter referred to as UAREC) in accordance with Clause 2 of Article 23 in General Regulation of
Organization of the University of Electro-Communications.
(Purpose)
Article 2
UAREC based in Bangkok, Thailand aims to promote collaborative activities and partnerships between
industries and academic institutions in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
conducted by the University of Electro-Communications.
(Location)
Article 3
The office of UAREC is located at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.
(Operations)
Article 4
UAREC shall support educational and research activities of the University of Electro-Communications.
(Members)
Article 5
UAREC has the following necessary officials.
(1) The Director
(2) Other officials
(Director of UAREC)
Article 6
The Director of UAREC shall be appointed by UEC President among the Member of the Board of Directors or faculty members.
2. The Director of UAREC shall supervise overall operations of UAREC.
3. The Director of UAREC appointed thereafter shall serve for two-year terms, and may be
reappointed. If any vacancy occurs before the expiration of the term, the term of office of the
successor shall be the remaining terms of the predecessors.
(Deputy Director of UAREC)
Article 7
The Deputy Director of UAREC shall be appointed by UEC President when deemed necessary by UEC President.
2. The Deputy Director of UAREC shall assist the Director of UAREC.
3. The Deputy Director of UAREC appointed thereafter shall serve for two-year terms, and may be
reappointed. If any vacancy occurs before the expiration of the term, the term of office of the
successor shall be the remaining terms of the predecessors.
(UAREC Committee)
Article 8
UEC ASEAN Research and Education Center Committee of the University of Electro-Communications
(hereinafter referred to as UAREC Committee) shall be established for deliberating on necessary
matters regarding management, operation and project.
2. The matters necessary for the UAREC Committee shall be prescribed separately.
(UAREC Technology Consultation Office)
Article 9
UEC ASEAN Research and Education Center Technology Consultation Office of the University of
Electro-Communication (hereinafter referred to as UAREC Technology Consultation Office) shall be
established under the UAREC to provide industrial technology support to companies expanding their
businesses to markets in Southeast Asian countries.
2. The matters necessary for UAREC Technology Consultation Office shall be prescribed separately.
(Administrative Support)
Article 10
The International Affairs Office, Research Promotion and International Affairs Division shall be
responsible for providing administrative support regarding UAREC.
(Miscellaneous)
Article 11
In addition to the provisions set forth in this regulation, the matters necessary for the UAREC shall be
prescribed separately.
Supplementary Provisions
1. This regulations shall come into effect as of February 1, 2014.
2. Regardless of Clause 3 of Article 6 and Clause 3 of Article 7 of this regulation, the term of office
of the Director and the Deputy Director appointed for the first time during the period from the
effective date of this regulation until March 31, 2014 shall be until March 31, 2016.
Supplementary Provisions
1. Amendment of the regulation shall come into effect as of June 25, 2014.
2. The Preparatory meeting of UAREC Committee which had been held before enactment of this
regulation shall be recognized as UAREC Committee specified in this regulation.
Supplementary Provisions
Amendment of the regulation shall come into effect as of July 1, 2016.
Supplementary Provisions
Amendment of the regulation shall come into effect as of April 1, 2018.

Amendment of the regulation shall come into effect as of April 1, 2020.
