(Overview)
Article 1
This regulation shall prescribe the necessary matters concerning UEC ASEAN Research and Education Center Committee of the University of Electro-Communications (hereinafter referred to as UAREC Committee) in accordance with Clause 2 of Article 8 in General Regulation on UEC ASEAN Research and Education Center.

(Matters for Deliberation)
Article 2
The UAREC Committee shall deliberate on the following matters regarding UEC ASEAN Research and Education Center of the University of Electro-Communications (hereinafter referred to as UAREC):
(1) Management and operation
(2) operational planning
(3) Budget
(4) Committee Members
(5) Other important matters

(Committee Members)
Article 3
The membership of the UAREC Committee shall be composed of the following members:
(1) The Director of UAREC
(2) Officials deemed to be necessary by the Director of UAREC
2. If the Deputy Director of UAREC is assigned, he/she shall be added to the members of the UAREC Committee in the preceding paragraph.

(Term of the Office)
Article 4
The term of office of the UAREC Committee members shall be two (2) years, and the UAREC Committee members may be reappointed to the committee for consecutive terms. If any vacancy occurs before the expiration of the term, the term of office of the successor shall be the remaining terms of the predecessors.

(The Chair of the UAREC Committee)
Article 5
The Chair shall be appointed in the UAREC Committee, and the Director of UAREC shall serve as the Chair of the UAREC Committee.
2. The Chair of the UAREC Committee shall call meetings and serve as the chairperson of the meetings.
3. In the absence or disability of the Chair of the UAREC Committee, a commissioner of the UAREC Committee who is designated by the Chair in advance shall perform the duties on behalf. However, if the Deputy Director is appointed in UAREC, the Deputy Director shall perform the duties of the Chair.

(Committee Meeting)
Article 6
The UAREC Committee may not open a meeting and transact the business without the attendance of one half or more of the total memberships of the UAREC Committee.
2. The decisions of the UAREC Committee shall be made by the majority of those present, and if votes end in a tie, the Chair shall decide the matters.

(Participation of Non- Committee Members)
Article 7
The UAREC Committee shall be able to have those other than the members attend a meeting if it is deemed necessary.

(Administrative support)
Article 8
The International Affairs Office, Research Promotion and International Affairs Division shall be responsible for providing administrative support regarding the UAREC Committee.

(Miscellaneous)
Article 9
In addition to the provisions set forth in this regulation, the matters necessary for the UAREC Committee shall be prescribed separately.

Supplementary Provisions
1. This regulation shall come into effect as of June 25, 2014.
2. Regardless of Article 4 of the general regulation on the UAREC Committee, the term of the office of the first UAREC Committee Members which are specified in (2) in Clause 1, Article 3, shall be until March 31, 2016.

Supplementary Provisions
Amendment of the regulation shall come into effect as of April 1, 2018.
